RBD palm oil and RBD palm olein are both common types of palm oil products. RBD stands for refined, bleached, and deodorized. Palm oil is processed in a refinery plant through physical refining, which involves refining, bleaching (or decolorization), and deodorization. This produces RBD palm oil, which meets quality standards and can be sold.

RBD-palm oil initially had an IV value 51.4 and cloud point 24.8°C. After dry fractionation process, stearin was produced with an IV value 35.8 and slip melting point 52.7°C and olein with an IV value 35.8 and cloud point 3.9°C. The dry fractionation of RBD-palm oil was depicted at Figure 1. Figure 1. The dry fractionation of RBD-palm oil

The research on palm oil as lubricant can be categorized into four (4) major groups, which (1) uses 100% palm oil as a test lubricant [11], [12], (2) uses palm oil emulsion [13], [14] and (3) uses palm oil with additive [15], [16] and (4) uses palm oil as an additive [17]. All of them found out that palm oil showed satisfactory results and has ...

Out of specification in the production of Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO) will cause recycling in palm oil refining process as well as zero production during that period. Hence, the ability to predict the output quality variables so that appropriate adjustment can be made in the process beforehand is very useful in minimizing the ...
- What is refined bleached deodorized palm stearin (rbdps)?
- Refined bleached deodorized palm stearin (RBDPS) is obtained by fractionating refined palm oil to separate olein from palm stearin. RBDPS is a solid fat with a high melt-ing point (44?56 °C) which needs to be mixed with lower melting oils such as PMF and RBDPKO in order to obtain a melting profile similar to CB.
- Can palm oil olein be aged at 170 °C?
- Author to whom correspondence should be addressed. This paper presents a high temperature ageing study of refined, bleached, and deodorized palm oil (RBDPO) olein at 170 °C in the presence of air. In total, two types of RBDPO were examined. The physiochemical and dielectric properties of RBDPO were measured and analysed.
- Does water degumming affect glycidyl esters in palm oil?
- Abstract: This paper examines the interactions of degumming and bleaching processes as well as their influences on the formation of 3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol esters (3-MCPDE) and glycidyl esters in refined, bleached and deodorized palm oil by using D-optimal design. Water degumming effectively reduced the 3-MCPDE content up to 50%.
- What is RBD palm olein production?
- The major emissions in the RBD Palm Olein production chain are attributed to the use of natural gas for energy spent in the industrial process and Poly Ethylene Terephthalate for product containers; whereas, those in the PME production are from methanol used in the transesterification.
