The oilcake leaves the extraction machine through an adjustable cone and is then delivered to the second pressing. The first stage pressing will extract out the oil from 45–49% to less than 15% in the palm kernel expeller cake (PKC). The palm kernel expeller cake, which still contains approximately 15% of oil, is further fed into another series of screw presses to extrude the remaining oil until the oil in palm kernel expeller cake is about 6 to 7%.
