The synthesis of biodiesel from coconut oil at 60 °C, with an alcohol:oil volumetric ratio of 1:1, and 0.5% of NaOH, requires a reaction time of 90 min to ensure the conversion of triglycerides into esters. Longer reaction times do not promote conversion but favor the reverse reaction of transesterification.
