I have a cnc lathe that uses grease every 6 weeks I give each fitting one pump of grease coolant last for about a year . The cnc mill uses way oil the oil floats on top of the coolant and the coolant goes bad quick. Way oil is a mess . Its expensive over time $70 for a 5 gallon bucket and the machine uses a about a half a quart a day.
You guys realize machines need oil right? Oil+Steel=magic

As I currently just use a monster bulk size bottle of 3-in-1 oil for everything, I’ll ask: I need a decent slideway oil, a decent oil for gearing, and, if neither of these are suitable for use as cutting lubricant, a cutting lubricant. I’m working on a tiny Chinese mini lathe with a cast iron slideway and milled mild steel gearing.

Cutting fluid is a type of industrial liquid that primarily regulates the working temperature by taking away the heat generated during the cutting process and also serves the purpose of lubrication. Generally, a good cutting fluid should have specific properties like high heat capacity, high lubricity, and low viscosity.

Although not always the most pleasant substance to deal with, coolant serves three very important purposes: Cooling tools. Lubricating the cutting process. Clearing chips. Investing in a good cutting fluid will allow you to machine parts smoothly and avoid issues but selecting the right one can be challenging.
