The MoU allows for IRC to conduct extensive studies for the construction of a modern high capacity oil refinery, named "Cameroon Atlantic Refinery Project" in the city of Kribi. Currently Cameroon has just one refinery, the Sonara refinery. The refinery will initially process at least 200,000 bpd and could be expanded to 350,000 bpd in the future.
