Further to increase the yield, a combination of protease, α-amylase and cellulase obtains RBO recovery of 76%–78% of those normally obtained with conventional extraction methods ( Sharma et al., 2001 ).

The RB oil was analyzed regarding the distribution of fatty acids by using hexane as the solvent for extraction. According to Table 2, the values found for palmitic (C16:0), stearic (C18:0), oleic acid (C18:1), linoleic (C18:2), and linolenic (C18:3) acids were consistent with the literature range (Firestone, 2013), and close values were reported by Wang et al. (2022).
